We are a network of private homes helping western Washington's homeless senior dogs. We also assist in senior dog placement. (We do not have a traditional shelter -- our dogs are in homes throughout western Washington.)

Dogs in an ODH foster home

ADOPT! - Many great dogs are awaiting a new home with just the right family. See those currently available and contact us by phone or email to discuss your situation and wishes. An Adoption Application Form can be found HERE. Please include a note about your particular interests and situation.

FOSTER! - Could you care for an abandoned senior dog for 2 to 12 weeks? This would involve giving gentle attention to a dog who might have special needs and might at first be confused or frightened, evaluating that dog's temperament, and helping us select the right adopter. The more homes we have available, the more dogs we can help! Contact us if you might be interested; you may download foster program information and application HERE. Please include a note about your particular interests and situation.

Provide a FINAL REFUGE! Could you provide long-term care to one of the oldest dogs? Many of the dogs needing our help are too old for normal adoption, perhaps in the last months or year of their lives or in fragile health. We take in as many as we can but have to say no when space is full. If you could provide the TLC to the end of the dog's life we could cover veterinary expenses. There is such reward in giving comfort and love to an old creature who really needs it. If you might have room in your heart and home to do this, please contact us. See current dogs in this program HERE.

Prevent a stray -- neuter or spay

* OldDog Haven supports the promotion of spay/neuter programs. There is an effort to create legislation that establishes a statewide spay/neuter program. The bill does not make spay/neuter mandatory, instead it seeks funding for spay/neuter of feral cats and pets of low income families. For information about the effort and ways you can help, visit HERE.
