Arthur

Thanks to Old Dog Haven, we were connected with a lively old man of 14 +/- years who had ended up in a shelter after being a part of a hoarding situation. The former owner had become sick and wasn’t able to care for all the dogs.

Arthur came to us with a vicious yeast infection consuming all his attention with chewing and scratching. Old Dog Haven has made sure that we were able to have Arthur seen by both internal and dermatologist vets to get him back to feeling healthy and comfortable.

Arthur was also really malnourished and so far has put on 14 pounds,  He’s now a much healthier 56 pounds! Originally, he was unable to stand let alone walk any distance, and he was very unstable. We started with 1/4 mile walks, now he’s able to trot through the woods and climb over small logs. He’s an amazing pup!

Arthur  loves to talk long walks now through the forest and meadows and is so happy laying in the sun! He also enjoys his 6 brothers and sisters and keeps them all in line! He’s happy to have a soft warm bed to rest his head at night. If you ever need a kiss, Arthur is always ready to give!

Update:  Arthur had a wonderful and very healing time in his Final Refuge home before his quality of life declined again due to a liver tumor.  He relished his new lease on life for as long as possible. Arthur was much loved and will be greatly missed by his family and the rest of his pack.
