Barkley is the sweetest senior gentleman! He is a 10 year old Shih Tzu, a friendly, well-mannered little fellow who is looking for a forever home where he can relax and enjoy his “golden years”. Barkley enjoys car rides, snuggling and cuddling, and likes going for slow walks. He is also very well-behaved when he is being bathed or groomed. Barkley has a few medical issues that will require attention going forward. He has a condition of the eyes known as KCS (dry eyes), and this condition will require lifelong eye medication that helps keep his eyes moist. Barkley also has a moderate heart murmur, and is a bit wobbly in his hind end when he walks, likely due to a condition known as IVDD (intervertebral disk disease), but neither of these conditions should require immediate medical or surgical intervention. Barkley also has been treated for dermatitis (skin infection) and otitis (ear infection), and hopefully with good care these will not be a chronic problem for him. Despite these medical issues, Barkley still loves life and is a very happy little guy! He loves everyone he meets, and can’t wait to join his new family.

Barkley is available for adoption at Kitsap Humane Society.

ODH has not met this dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
