Beegee, a happy 10-year-old Dachshund mix, was returned to the shelter 8 years after adoption because the owner could no longer care for him and his “brother”.

Beegee is a charming guy with the heart of a pup and the enthusiasm to match. He is very people oriented, and wants nothing more than to hang out getting belly rubs and giving kisses, unless there is an open door and nothing but the horizon in view, ha ha.  (Because his recall isn’t reliable “in the wild” we do not recommend leash-free walks unless in a contained area.) He is ok on a leash and will pull, but it is controllable and volunteers continue to work with him on this. He also likes to jump and was once found on top of the office desk!  Needless to say, his person will want to consider how to “jump proof” his environment as jumping down from such a height is not good for his back or short legs. He likes respectful dogs and children, but not cats. He will be fine sharing his new home with another respectful dog.

Despite his quirks, Beegee seems to be an easy keeper. He is people oriented, house trained, mostly polite and good in a car. As a “young senior” of only 10, this guy has lots of spirit in him and is looking for the right person to share his life. Once you meet him you will be in love!

Beegee is posted for the Forget-Me-Not shelter in Republic WA who offer a 30-day money-back trial adoption period. Can’t come to Republic? Don’t let that stop you! They have monthly transports to both the Seattle area and Spokane, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. Please contact info@forgetmenotshelter.org or visit Beegee’s listing at www.forgetmenotshelter.org/Dogs/1261Beegee/  for more information.

ODH has not met this dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
