This special little lady is Bella, a sweet little 8 pound senior maltese who recently lost her sight.  Although she is blind, Bella has adapted beautifully in her foster home!  She cheerfully putters around the house keeping her foster mom company. She sniffs and happily explores her surroundings navigating the world well with her nose and ears. She doesn’t seem to notice that she cannot see!

She enjoys leash walks and snuggling. She is living well with another small dog and, at 10 years old, she still enjoys bouts of playtime with her gentle canine pal. Bella is looking for an adult-only home or a quiet home with kids over 12 who will respect her special needs. A household where someone is home most of the time, with no stairs and a secure fence, or an apartment setting is her best fit considering her lack of sight.  Another gentle small dog in the home will help Bella adjust and navigate the world.

Please no kitties, they seem to confuse her. This is a very special dog seeking a special person to shower her with love and affection. Those who do will be rewarded with her unfailing devotion and oh-so-sweet companionship. Experience with special needs dogs would be helpful but not required.

Bella is posted for the Humane Society of Southwest Washington in Vancouver WA.  She is still living in a foster home so if you are interested in opening your heart and home to this sweet little girl, please email tzimmerman@southwesthumane.org.

THIS IS NOT AN ODH DOG; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
