“Are you looking for a Buddy? I’m your boy! I don’t think it’s a coincidence that my name is Buddy. I’m a 70 pound pit bull mix who is about 11 years old.

I lost my home when my owner became ill. He found me abandoned in a parking lot when I was about 1 years old. I know he is sad to let me go but life changed. He is hoping I can find a home with someone who will love me and give me the home I need for the rest of my life. At this time I’m living in a veterinary boarding kennel. Because of that I’m taking some medication to help me be more “chill”. The plan is once I find a home, to wean me off of this medication. The people heretreat me nicely. But there’s nothing like a REAL home. I miss snuggles on the couch with my human. Once I get to know you, I am very affectionate. Spend some time with me and you won’t be sorry.

I don’t like other dogs so I need to be your one and only. I lived with cats and was good with those and the neighbor’s cats in my former home. I am not a fan of kids. I can be barky at the door when someone comes to the house but lots of dogs behave that way!  I need a home with someone who is kind, committed and dog savvy.

Walks are so much fun! I do pull on leash so you should be strong enough to manage that. Perhaps you could teach me how to walk with manners? I’ve heard there are harnesses that help excited dogs like myself not to pull. Can you blame me for getting excited when I get out of my kennel and get to walk?! A house with a fenced yard would be nice. I can do stairs still.

My hope is that soon, very soon, my forever person will come through the door of the boarding kennel and bring me to my new home! That will be such a joyful day. If I’m not the right dog for you, maybe you can tell you friends about me?”
