“Hi, I’m Chico. I’m in need of an adoptive home and very soon so I’m going to tell you all about me. I am a 12 pound boy, people say I’m about 11 or 12 years old. They call me a “smooth fox terrier mix”. Check out my ears and my snaggle tooth, I’m a cutie.

“I like to think of myself as a real companion dog. I don’t like to be held much, I just enjoy tagging along. You won’t ever feel lonely with me around.  Right now, I don’t get to be with my people most of the day and that’s very hard on me. I get stressed about being alone so much, my humans give me a pill to help with that but it doesn’t “cure” my loneliness.  I’m being kept separate from the other dogs in the house; one was attacking me and I’m not a fighter! I  can hear the dogs upstairs and it makes me lonely. I may enjoy having a canine companion; one that’s not a threat to me. I’ve lived with cats and kids. I don’t appreciate young kids, teenagers are fine though.

“I enjoy going for walks with my person and I’m pretty good on leash. I can do stairs still but I am getting a little stiff due to aging. I sleep in my crate at night. I can manage quite a while before I need a potty break. I’m very smart; I follow voice commands through the dog monitoring camera! I truly AM a good boy, I just need to find the right home.

“A very nice, respected trainer has met me and says she’s “Team Chico”. She is willing to help whoever adopts me so that I can settle in properly. My current people have tried very hard to help me be part of their pack but it’s just not working and I don’t want to stay home alone all day.

“My hope is that I will find a committed, forever home. My wish is for a home with people who are around more often than not. I have a few quirks but doesn’t everyone?? I hope someone will see the special boy I really am, and soon!”
