Cocoa is giving her best look in hopes to melt her adopter-to-be’s heart! This pretty girl’s definite age is unknown as she was found a stray 6 years ago with sores on her thin body, being kicked and hit with sticks by some rotten teenagers. A vet has estimated her to between the age of 8-9 years old now. Sweet Cocoa is a big girl at 90 pounds who is strong. Her adopter needs to be able to manage that strength since she can pull when she first gets out for a walk. We are told that Cocoa loves her walks and will calm down after her initial excitement-like a lot of dogs who appreciate getting out and about. Cocoa must find a home without other animals and one without young children. She has never shown a sign of aggression towards kids but because she is large and strong, the belief is it is safest for her to find a home where the kids are at least 12 years old and are very kind and gentle. Currently Cocoa can go for quite a few hours without needing a potty break and she’s fine to stay in the house while her people are away at work. This is a nice girl! She’s always up for a car ride or laying on the couch with her family. All this and Cocoa knows tricks- she can even “hug” you if you ask her to.

Cocoa is an example of how wonderful and forgiving dogs can be in spite of a traumatic experience. The word is you meet Cocoa and fall in love-that’s what everyone does. Cocoa is in Marysville, WA. in need of an adoptive home soon.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
