Daphne was dropped off at the shelter at age 13 to be euthanized because she was leaking urine. The shelter contacted Old Dog Haven for assistance and everyone sprang into action to get her out of the shelter and into an ODH Final Refuge home. Once there, Daphne was immediately taken to the vet where they determined that she had a bladder full of bladder stones. Surgery was scheduled the next day and a whopping 47 stones were pulled from her tiny bladder! Daphne had also never been spayed and she had a mouthful of rotten teeth.

Daphne, whose nickname is “Muffin”, is now 15 and showing no signs of slowing down. She loves chasing her stuffed fox and going for walks. She’s also a bit of a diva who wishes she was an only dog so her ODH mom and dad make sure to take her places without the rest of the pack to make her feel special. Daphne apparently has everyone in the house wrapped around her little finger and sulking down to an art form! She still struggles with bladder stone formation, eye issues and some occasional GI problems, but she’s getting the vet care she needs and remains a very happy and spoiled girl enjoying her senior years thanks to your support of ODH.

Update:  After an amazing 5 1/2 years in her Final Refuge home, it was time to let little Daphne move on.  She was 18 or 19 years old and had amazed us all at her longevity and ability to have a wonderful quality of life until the very last.  This little girl will be greatly missed and we are so grateful for the time she shared with us.
