Delta is said to be a sweet, loyal, cuddly girl who listens well. She is an 8 year old German Shepherd. At 122 pounds, she is currently overweight. Delta has lived her entire life with a male German Shepherd. We are told she is shy around new dogs and mostly stays to herself when she is around them. Delta has lived with cats and children, doing fine with both.

During the day when her human leaves, she is crated. She can manage a few hours between potty breaks. When her human is home, she is out of her crate, hanging out in the house. Delta will let you know by barking when someone arrives to your home. She barks at visitors but settles down once she is greeted and then she wants to make friends!

A gentle diet and exercise plan will help Delta lose the weight she really needs to. She has arthritis with pain in her hips. There are medications and supplements that can help with joint pain, this could greatly benefit Delta. Currently Delta does not get much exercise. We’d bet she could enjoy short walks at this time, perhaps increasing the distance as she becomes more fit. We are told that Delta loves to play fetch.

Delta recently had a vet visit. She had a mass that was checked and we are told the vet believes it is a cyst. This growth should be monitored.  Delta could really use a dental. Imagine how your mouth would feel if you never had dental care? Delta’s adopter should be able to take care of this for her, it could improve her quality of life and extend her life as well!

At night Delta will lay on the floor or sleep in her open kennel. This beautiful girl is said to be a very loving, very loyal dog. Delta enjoys people and physical affection. She really sounds like a terrific dog. Delta is in need of an adoptive home soon.

Delta is located in Vancouver, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org
