11 year old Dexter is a very good looking, 55 pound Australian Shepherd.   Dexter has lived with other dogs but would prefer not to. His big issue is with cats and he’s always lived with them but his anxiety and negative behavior towards them has grown worse as he’s aged. Dexter is SO ready to start the next chapter in a new home where he is someone’s one and only pet! We are told that Dexter does great with kids who are gentle and kind to him.

Dexter enjoys short daily walks. He is said to do fine on leash. He can manage quite a while before needing a potty break and can stay alone inside his home when his people are away without issue. Dexter will bark to let you know there’s something outside so apartment life may not suit him.

We are told that Dexter had a full check up in June 2021 and all looked good, he does have the start of cataracts, which is quite common in senior dogs as they age.

Dexter is not a happy fellow in his current home. We are told he is perfectly calm and happy when the cats are not around. It would be wonderful for Dexter to find a feline free home where he can relax and thrive.

Dexter is located in Lake Stevens, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
