Meet Diego, a 9-year-old neutered male German Shepherd Dog weighing 88 pounds.

Despite Diego being an older dog, he is very active and playful!   Diego spent most of his life outside, he would not be a match for an apartment and would benefit from a large, fenced in yard.   He is housebroken.

Diego still needs to learn to take treats and toys gently making a home with older children or only adults the most appropriate match. Diego is strong and can be reactive towards other dogs through a fence or on a leash.  Attending a positive reward based training course would help him work on this and will help him bond to his new owner.   He could live with kids 16 or older, with another respectful and tolerant dog (introduction to be done at the shelter), but not cats.

He is posted for Whatcom Humane Society, 2172 Divison St, Bellingham WA.  Contact adoptions@whatcomhumane.org or 360-733-2080 ext 0.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
