11 year old Doug is a 60 pound mixed breed in need on an adoptive home. He’s said to be a border collie/boxer mix, whatever he is, he’s a unique looking boy. Doug has been described as “an easy-going, gentle boy”.

Doug has never lived with other dogs but we are told he’s friendly with those he meets. Because he is visually challenged, we’d bet a home with mellow, friendly dogs would suit him best. Doug has lived with cats and been fine with them. A home with gentle children who know to be kind to a dog (at least over 3 years old) should be O.K.

Currently Doug spends long hours alone inside a kennel or small room while his person is away for work. He holds his bladder all that time but as he ages, he may not be able to do that so one must take that into consideration.

Doug can manage stairs and he really, REALLY loves the walks he takes twice a day. He is well-behaved on leash. Doug is a playful fellow who will “talk” when he’s excited. But we’re told he is not a barker! Doug would love to be a lap dog, he loves to get up on the couch with his person.

Doug sounds like a very nice boy. He is waiting in Bremerton, WA. He is in need of a new home very soon.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
