“Howdy! My name’s Drake and I’m a 10 year old saint bernard. I’m looking for a home with someone who is ready and able to make a lifetime commitment to me. I was adopted from a shelter then given away and now I need to find another home-for keeps this time! I’m a very loving boy, I see all people as my friends. Currently I live with a small dog who hates me and 2 cats. I leave the cats alone. While I’ve been nothing but polite to this small dog, my current people think I should have my own family where I will not have to share affection. That sure sounds nice to me but it’s not necessary as long as your current dog doesn’t mind that I can be a little, well “needy” sometimes. I enjoy kids. Because I weigh 140 pounds, a home with older kids would be best. I don’t want to unintentionally harm a small child. Right now the teenage kid in my home is my favorite person; I sleep by her bed at night. I don’t spend a lot of time alone, that’s really nice and how I like it to be. I can wait to potty for up to 4 hours at a time if you really need me to. I cannot really handle stairs so I need a home without any. I wouldn’t want my new person to hurt themselves trying to carry me up and down stairs when I need to relieve myself! I’m a good boy on leash, which is important considering my size. I can’t really go for long walks anymore but I love to sniff and explore so perhaps short, slow walks and exploring in your fenced yard would be nice?

Please do not ask about me if you want to have me live outside! I want to be in the house with my family, not outside alone. I’m a very calm boy who will make a great companion. Please, if you cannot give me a forever home, tell your friends about me!”

Drake is in Port Townsend, WA.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
