“Are you looking for a loyal friend who will always make you feel special? I just may be “the one” for you! My name is Dusa and I am a 9 year old girl (who turns 10 in April) looking for a forever home. I weigh about 50 pounds. I have a black lab face with a pitbull body. I’m a sleek, sweet, pretty girl!

“While I cannot live with other girls-I must be the only girl in the house! I have lived with male dogs and cats just fine. Of course proper introductions should be made when integrating me into a new family. I recently lost my owner and the home we lived in. Thankfully her family is caring for me but they are trying to find me a new home. I have not been observed around kids but family think a home with kids older than 10 years old could be OK. If they can throw a ball, I’m game as I LOVE LOVE LOVE to play fetch!!

“I have not had recent vet care. While I don’t appreciate going to the vet, it is in my best interest as a middle aged gal to have regular veterinary care. I have some arthritis that could be soothed by supplements or possible medications for arthritis. It could keep me in tip top shape for my ball fetching!

“At this time I can still manage stairs and last a while before I need a potty break. As time goes by, this could change as it does for all of us seniors-canine and human! I am a very good girl about staying home alone. I will need time in my new home to learn you are coming back when you leave-please remember this with any dog you adopt. I will hang out on the couch if you allow it, I sure hope you will. I will let you know when someone comes to the door. That IS our job as dogs, you know!

“My adopter can work with me on my leash skills. I have a tendency to pull. I could benefit from one of those special harnesses I’ve seen other dogs wear that prevents them from pulling their owner too much. I’m a strong girl who needs an owner who can walk me and manage my strength.

“Once I get settled into my new place and get to know you, we are going to have a beautiful relationship! I am ready, are YOU?!”
