Edgar
Loving and affectionate
Edgar sounds like the most wonderful boy! He is an 8 year old pitbull who weighs about 70 pounds.
Edgar has lived with ALL kinds of animals: dogs, cats, rats, rabbits, lizards, snakes, goats, chickens, turkeys, ducks (and many more according to his owner). Unfortunately not every dog has been kind to Edgar which has made him cautious. Who couldn’t blame him after being picked upon?
Edgar is now ready to find a new home where he will be treated with kindness by any dog or cat in his new home. His family believes he needs a quiet home without so many animals about to worry him. Edgar has only had an issue when a dog has come near his food bowl-this is EASILY remedied: feed him away from others, let him enjoy his meal in peace without worry. No animal or human likes to have the threat of having their food taken from them.
Not only has Edgar been good with animals, he’s been most excellent around children. His family does believe it’d be best if he had a home with older kids who would leave his food bowl alone and not tease him. Edgar would love the attention of gentle children just as he loves the attention from adults. He is a snuggly, couch potato but he always enjoys going outside to join you while you do chores or hang out in the yard. Edgar is a people pleaser, so true to his breed! He knows some verbal commands and does not bark much unless it’s to join in when other dogs are barking.
Edgar is what we consider to be a “young” senior. He is that perfect age where he can be active, enjoying walks and hikes. He does well on walks with a leash on harness (those are nice to protect tugging at a dog’s neck).Edgar can still do stairs at this time. He has not had a senior exam yet but we would recommend this for him upon adoption as we do with any senior if that has not been done. This provides an overall picture of a dog’s health. Currently Edgar can manage quite a few hours between potty breaks. He is well behaved when he is left inside the house when his people leave, cuddling up with one of his large, stuffed unicorns! What a cutie!
Edgar is and always should remain an “inside dog”.
Someone will be very fortunate to welcome Edgar into their family. He is a happy, loving and affectionate boy who deserves more attention that he is able to receive in his current home.
