Finn
Bouncy, happy boy
Please note: The dogs in ODH's Final Refuge care are not adoptable due to medical reasons and all are in permanent homes. Your sponsorship supports the veterinary expenses for these dogs - and we thank you!
Finn was turned into a shelter after being found on the streets. With his significant heart murmur, he wasn’t a candidate for adoption so the shelter reached out to ODH.
Finn came to his ODH Final Refuge family un-neutered, with a mouth full of rotting teeth and a growth on his hip. He also suffered seizures about twice a week which understandably terrified him. His foster mom noted that when he could feel a seizure coming on he would struggle to get to her. ODH helped Finn with a full dental, removing 26 teeth, and neutered him. The hip growth was removed and luckily found to be benign. He was also able to see a veterinary neurologist who prescribed a daily medication that stopped his seizures entirely!
Finn loves the companionship of Final Refuge friends Miss Dede and Pippa. He especially enjoys snuggling in next to Pippa for naps. When Finn is happy, he joyfully jumps with all four feet off the ground in unison, like a bouncing little lamb! He is very attached to his people and wants to be with them every second.
Finn loves to guard his new home and sitting on the bed, he tirelessly focuses on the street so he can he family know if anyone walks by the house. Despite being 13, Finn has the exuberant bouncing joy of a puppy!
This boy has taught us to make the most of what you have. When Finn first arrived, his only companion was our cat, so he made the best of it and cuddled up.
One of Finn’s many endearing qualities is that he is so excited by all the smells on his walks, he flattens himself to the ground and crawls forward sniffing – just like a hound in a cartoon!
Finn’s new family is very happy to share their lives with him and enjoy watching this boy make the very best out of his new life.
