8 1/2 year old Franklin is a 55 pound delight.  He’s a wonderful blend of poodle, cocker spaniel, and retriever with characteristics from each. This handsome fellow loves adult humans, but the little humans make him very nervous, and so he really needs a new home without children under 10. And, although he is very polite to other dogs when he is on a leash, Franklin is not comfortable with dogs off leash- so if doing the dog park is your thing, this is not your dog!

As a young senior, Franklin is still able to manage quite a while before he needs a potty break. He is fine to stay alone in the house while his people are out, as long as he’s not put in a crate- Franklin never learned to be comfortable with that!  We are told Franklin can do stairs but he is starting to show signs of arthritis, so a joint supplement might be appropriate before too long. As we always say, an adopter should be prepared to provide good food and regular vet care for any dog they adopt, to keep them healthy for their lifetime.

Franklin will let you know when strangers are at the door. He has gone through dog obedience training and we’re told he is good on a leash.  Franklin would love a companion who can walk with him at least once a day, and he’s had travel experience so bring on the car rides!

If you are looking for a fun-loving boy who will be a loving and devoted companion, act fast. Franklin needs a ‘kid free’ and ‘cat free’ home where he can be the only dog, very soon.

Franklin is posted for his owner in Seattle, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
