“Hello new families! My name is Greta and I am 10 years old. I was found as a stray and brought to a shelter. Although I was a favorite among the staff, I just wasn’t a happy girl. See, I tried my best to wiggle my behind as adopters walked by, tried to steal a kiss from anyone that put their hand to my cage, used my beautiful eyes to pull at their heart strings, but as much as I tried, it was the younger pups that got picked to be adopted. Its all I would dream about night and day. So the shelter reached out to NWBR to help make my wish come true. They knew someone like you would be looking for a dog just like me!

I know I am not young any more but I am a good girl and have so much more love to give. I’m mature and wise and you wont have to worry about my manners. I don’t chew on things or jump on you even tho I get so very excited when you are near me. I don’t climb on furniture unless you need a couch cuddler to fall asleep with or a warm soft body to snuggle with to keep you warm and safe at night. I am crate trained and love my peanut butter Kong when I go in, although I could be left out since I am such a good girl. I am potty trained and have not had 1 accident while at my foster family’s home. I can wait while you are at work too.

I may be 10 but I can splash and play with the best of doggies. I can jump up on the bed or in the van which is pretty high, unless you tell me no. Steps are no big deal for me and I can beat you to the top every time. I walk great on a leash and am really excited to enjoy our adventure. I know how to lay down and sit. But best of all, if you got a raise at work, ran an extra mile at the gym, your Seahawks made a touch down, I can give you a high five. Yep, I’m that good.

I love kids but prefer older respectful ones. I am a bit nervous when meeting men, I had a few not so good experiences, yet with the right leader, setting and patience, I can learn just like a new pup that things are okey dokey. I’m not a fan of cats but do well with the pigs, goats and the pony. I get along with all the big dogs here. I’m best with big dogs because I am a larger boxer weighing in at 85 lbs. I would feel so bad if I hurt a little one. I would also be just fine without a dog friend as long as I have you.

I have such a big heart and love to please you in any way I can. I will whine a little to let you know when its chow time if you got busy and forgot to feed me at the usual time. I love my food so to keep me at a good weight my foster mom limits the treats I get. She is just helping me keep my lady figure.

So if you are looking for a great companion to love you no matter what, watch movies with, be there to listen if you had a bad day, go for a hike with, throw some balls with, and never let you down, you found me! Come make my day, my life, and give me that home that I deserve. I will give you all I have in return. Fill out an adoption app requesting me, Greta, as your new BFF. “

Greta is posted for Northwest Boxer Rescue. She is a NWBR foster home in Pasco, WA.

This is NOT an Old Dog Haven Dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
