“Are you looking for a cute, loving, quirky kind of guy? After living in the same home, I am looking for a new home.My name is Gunther and I am about to turn 9 years old this October 9th. My people say I am a terrier mix, your guess is as good as mine! I weigh 20 pounds.

“I am a GREAT companion for an adult. I don’t like babies or young kids, they make me nervous with all of their unpredictable behavior. I can be choosy about which dogs I want to be friends with but I have lived with another dog and could probably live with a new one if we are introduced properly and I’m given time to learn the ropes and routine in my new home. Just don’t try to feed us people food at the same time in the same area because I’m going to do my best to get all of it!  If I could choose, my preference would be to be someone’s one and only!  I have been known to harass the cat I live with now so it’d be best if my new home doesn’t have a cat.

“Playing fetch is the best, but I have my own way of playing that makes my humans laugh! I am not too keen on walking in weather that is wet or cold. Of course living in the PNW, this means walks can be limited. When I get out on leash I can be barky and pull in my excitement. I dance, I bunny hop, I dig toys out of my toy box and bring them to you. I make people smile.

“I am considered a young senior, I do experience aches in my hips. This means a home with a lot of stairs could be hard on me.  I am hoping my adopter will have this checked out, I could use something to ease the discomfort. I don’t like being left alone; I will bark and howl. I am put in my kennel when it’s necessary.  My people have been giving me medication to chill me out since the baby came along.  I have been through training, this was to help curb my undesirable behavior around the little human but we all agree now, I’m probably going to be happier in a child-free home.  I’m just not cut out for this family gig! Once I leave here, with time and vet supervision, I can be weaned off this medication and just be me.

“As you can probably tell, I need regular grooming. My human tried to get me used to having my nails clipped and hair brushed by her but I never liked it much. I have a groomer who does it for her. It’s important to keep up on this so one should be able to afford that and of course good dog food and regular veterinary care. I have some fatty lumps on my side the vet looks at and so far, so good but it’s always best to keep those things in check.

“If you are a homebody, you like to spend time at home cuddled up with a friend who will be loyal, loving and make you laugh and smile, I could be the one who checks all the boxes!”
