Houdini has been spending time in a foster home and being showered with love and attention! His foster mom says Houdini is very affectionate and loves to be with his people. He will curl up on the couch next to you or snuggle up on a nice cozy bed. He absolutely loves squeaking a plush toy! Houdini enjoys going for walks and is quite active despite his old age.

Typical of his breed, Houdini will sometimes catch a scent and his nose will take him on an adventure, so Houdini needs a home with a secure fully fenced yard. Houdini does bark and bay when he’s excited and sometimes when left alone, so he would not do well in an apartment.

Houdini would likely prefer to be the only pet in the home, so he can be spoiled with love and be the center of attention. Because Houdini can be a bit of an escape artist, he needs a home with children over the age of 12 who will remember not to leave the door open!

Like many senior dogs, Houdini does have some medical conditions that his new family will need to help manage as he ages. The Kitsap Humane Society vet team will be happy to talk with you further about keeping Houdini looking and feeling his best. Because Houdini is currently in a foster home, meet and greets are by appointment only. To request an adoption application, please email nsmith@kitsap-humane.org.

Houdini is a post for the Kitsap Humane Society in Silverdale, WA. Houdini’s ID number is 67392 and here is the link to his adoption page.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
