8 year old Izzy is dreaming of a home in the country where she can get her exercise while protecting her family from predators. Izzy weighs 50 pounds.  She is an energetic girl who would be a great hiking or running companion.  Izzy will thrive in a home that has a calm, predictable routine and where her family is home more often than not.

Izzy has lived with another male dog her size and should be fine in a home with another confident male dog.  She cannot be in a home with small dogs and cats because of her hound prey drive.  Izzy loves human companionship and is longing for a patient family willing to reassure Izzy that she won’t be abandoned again.

Izzy recently received a Senior Wellness Exam with bloodwork.  She was depressed and anxious when she first arrived to rescue and has been prescribed trazodone, a calming medication, to help her adjust to her new life.  Once Izzy has found her new home and settled in, she could very well be able to discontinue this medication under her veterinarian’s direction.

Izzy is posted for Save-A-Mutt. She is being fostered in Snohomish County, WA.  If you’d like to learn more about Izzy, please email: elizabeth@save-a-mutt.org or check out their Petfinder link: www.petfinder.com/pet-search?shelter_id=WA630
