“My name is Jelly and I’m sweet just like the stuff you spread on your toast! I’m a 10 year old, 55 pound English Bulldog. I’m hoping to find a forever home with a person or couple who are willing and ready to give me the T.L.C. I need. I’m a little high maintenance but I assure you I’ll make up for it with the affection I’ll give you. With me around, you’ll always feel loved.

I’m a nice girl really and I do like a lot of dogs but I can be dog selective. You need to talk more with my caregiver about what that means. Needless to say, if you have a dog we’ll all have to meet face to face before I can make a commitment to you. I cannot tell you how I’d behave around cats as I’ve never been around one before; the same goes for kids. I’d think if you have older kids, 12 and over, who are kind to dogs, I could be fine.

So more about what I mean by “high maintenance”. Being a bulldog means I have physical traits that require more care than your average dog. As is common in my breed, I have dry eye so I need twice daily prescription eye drops. I have a tendency to develop ear infections so my ears need cleaning twice a week. A couple embarrassing issues for me are that I can leak urine sometimes in my sleep and well, I need my bum wiped off after I have a bowel movement. Dogs just like humans, often require more care as we age, right? If you’ve had a bulldog before or even an old dog surely you will understand.

Onto all the good about me! I know how to use both potty pads and a dog door. I don’t flip out when you leave the house. If I can get up on the couch, I’ll gladly snooze the day away. I’m super cuddly. I love being a lap dog. Aside from that, aren’t I pretty? I don’t bark much at all except for when it’s about to be meal time. I’m only helping you keep on schedule.

I don’t need a lot of exercise. If allowed, I’d go without walks but for my health I really should move. I could easily gain too much weight as I LOVE to eat. So I need someone who will be mindful of my weight. A fat dog does not live a long, quality life! Stairs aren’t easy for me to do. Keep in mind the shape of my body, my short legs have to hold me up and since I don’t see terrific, stairs can be hard and scary.

Now that you know all about me, if you’d like to meet me please email the folks who can give you my caregiver’s contact information. I’m waiting in Tukwila, WA. for you!”
