Katie is a pretty Jack Russell Terrier (mix?) who weighs 25 pounds. We are told she is between 11 and 12 years old. Katie has lived with other dogs but needs proper introduction when meeting new dogs. It sounds as though for Katie, a home with mellow, older dogs would be best. She has never lived with or been observed around a cat. Katie’s not a fan of young kids but she is fine with teenagers who are kind to her.

Katie is a playful girl who loves balls and stuffed squeaky toys. She did sustain an injury to her CCL which can cause her to limp sometimes. This has limited the amount of exercise she can do but that doesn’t stop her from pulling while on leash!  Katie needs a home with very few- if any-stairs. Katie takes Gabapentin for pain. Katie has had seizures in the past. At this time we are told they are “controlled”.  As with every dog we post for adoption, we recommend Katie’s adopter can and will afford her vet care for the rest of her days. In return, Katie will keep your lap warm!

At night Katie sleeps in her crate but during the day she’s out and about in her home, needing a potty break about every 4-5 hours. Reportedly not much of a barker, she will cry when her people leave the house. When she’s not hanging out with her people, she likes to keep watch at the window for squirrels and rabbits. Katie’s new home should have a fenced yard where she can enjoy checking out all the smells a dog enjoys doing. If you have ever shared your home and heart with a terrier, you know what fun they can be; Katie is no exception!

This is not an ODH; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
