Katie

With heart melting brown eyes and sassy personality, Katie is ready to steal your heart. She is a middle aged dog at 8-9 years old, ready for her second chance at her happily ever after. Katie is a sweetheart who is always ready to explore a yard with her doggie friends or nap the day away on her bed. She would like a securely fenced yard where she can go out to play alongside her humans.

Katie loves to play with other dogs and quickly makes friends with dogs of a variety of sizes and temperaments. Her preference would be toward a quiet home with a soft bed to call her own. She has been cat tested and treats them much like furnishings, paying them very little attention overall.

Katie was recently diagnosed with SARDS, which is a retinal disease that causes blindness. At this point, she is almost completely blind. Katie gets around well despite this diagnosis and has learned to step up or downstairs just by being told “Step”. She does still run into things on occasion, but is able to learn the space she’s in and adjusts to it as she goes.

Katie is on a wet food diet as she doesn’t have many teeth remaining. She is so excited each day as meal time approaches. Her perfect manners and gentle disposition make her a great companion.
