Here’s Kitty! Yes, her name is Kitty and she is an 11 year old, 11 pound, chihuahua/pekingese mix. This pretty girl has so many things going for her! She is described as being loving and sweet. Her person says she seems to know when you are down or not feeling well and will respond to you in a way to try to make you feel better.

When she was younger Kitty lived with other dogs. We are told that now she will meet some dogs and want to greet them, other dogs she will ignore. She will bark back at a dog who barks at her but she is never aggressive. Kitty has not been exposed to cats. This very nice girl has been good with kids who are gentle and respectful to her.

Kitty is crate trained and is accustomed to being in her crate when her person leaves the house. When someone is home she needs a potty break about every 3 hours. If you miss her cue she may have an accident, which is understandable. As with every dog who is rehomed, Kitty should be given time to learn how to get outside to relieve herself. She’s had the same home with the same person since she was 3 months old, Kitty needs to be shown love and compassion as she moves on.

Kitty loves walks and does well on leash. She enjoys getting out as much as her person will allow. Kitty loves running and playing fetch too. She is a young senior so it’d be wonderful if she could find a home with someone who will have the time to allow her to enjoy being active. She can do stairs at this time.

Kitty will announce the arrival of a guest to your door by barking. If she hears other dogs barking, she will join in. It sounds as though she has good house manners, enjoying time inside her home outside of her crate. She does sleep in her crate at night so the more time during the day she’s out of it, the better!

While she is up to date on vaccines, Kitty has not had a full senior check up in 3 years. Her adopter should be willing and able to get Kitty in for a check up with lab work to give the most complete picture of her overall health. We say it all of the time- a lifelong commitment to regular vet care and good quality dog food are so important!

Kitty is in need of an adoptive home soon. We think she’s going to make someone a lovely companion or she could join a family with kind children who will enjoy her playfulness.

Kitty is located in Lynnwood, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org

This is a courtesy post. Kitty is not an Old Dog Haven dog. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
