Kobe
Playful boy and very smart!
Are you looking for a new friend? An active buddy who will join you for walks and make you smile with his play? A friend who is smart, knows many verbal commands, and was called by a past trainer “a natural performer”? Well, Kobe may be the dog for you!
Kobe is a spry senior, he turns 9 in January of 2025. He is a unique blend of whippet and labrador retriever. Kobe weighs 35 pounds. Kobe has lived with another small dog and does well with other dogs, even large breeds with the exception of huskies and german shepherds. If you have indoor cats, Kobe can co-exist with them peacefully. However, Kobe will chase cats outside. He lost his previous home because he was not good with children. His current home has not tested that but they believe it best to find a home for Kobe without kids.
This nice boy has been fine to stay alone without issue. Of course, one would want to get him acclimated to his new home before leaving him for too long. He can manage quite a while between potty breaks and do stairs just fine. We are told he does bark to alert you when the doorbell rings. Like many dogs, thunder and fireworks can scare him and cause him to bark. Kobe will bark a single bark to let you know he needs to go outside to do his business and once he’s ready to come back in, he will give a single bark. Aside from that he is described as “a fairly quiet couch potato”!
Kobe sounds like a very playful dog who enjoys playing with other nice dogs. He enjoys playing with his toys and zooming around his fenced yard. Kobe has been through a lot of training. He has never been fond of large crowds or loud people. Through his training he’s learned to remove himself from a room when he is overwhelmed. Ideally he will find a quiet home but one that still allow him to remain active. We are told his favorite word is WALK but he also enjoys playing with his stuffed animals independently or chewing on a bone. What a FUN dog!
A home with a routine will help Kobe thrive. While he can be shy at first but once he opens up he is a lively, curious, sweet and goofy dog. He loves to cuddle with his person during downtime. We think Kobe sound like a terrific dog and someone will be very lucky to offer him a lifetime commitment!
