Kokanee is an 8 year old, 60 pound Australian Shepherd who is dreaming of a forever home for the holidays. Here is what his foster mom has to say:

“Kokanee is such a gem. He knows basic commands like sit, shake, speak and lay down. He is house trained and knows how to use a dog door. He gets excited on leash but is improving his leash manners using a gentle leader.
“Kokanee is so sweet. He loves his scratches and belly rubs and just wants to be with his people. He will throw himself back and trust fall into your lap- it’s the cutest. He loves to burrow into you for hugs and snuggles and makes Chewbacca sounds. Kokanee will be initially curious about other animals in his space but then tends to be aloof about them after that. He does well with dogs and cats. Whoever adopts this boy will be super lucky.”

Because Kokanee’s history with children is unknown, his rescuers are asking for a home without children under 16. Any adopter should have some experience with the herding breeds and be willing to take Kokanee to training classes.
Kokanee is posted for Save-A-Mutt Rescue. He is being fostered in Snohomish County, WA. For more information about Kokanee, please submit a Save-A-Mutt adoption application. Applications can be found at www.save-a-mutt.org
This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
