Lilly is a sweet and dignified young 10 year old senior lady, who weighs approximately 16 pounds. She is looking for a very quiet home and environment. A detached single story home, with no or very few stairs, and a secure fenced yard is a must. Lilly has some decreased vision and as a result requires to be on leash at all times when out on walks for her safety.

She is perfectly potty trained, not crate trained, is not a barker and has a very easy-going personality. Shy at first, Lilly warms up when provided the time and gentleness. She is “hand shy” and quick movements startle her –  based on her temperament, Lilly would be accepting of older, respectful, teen aged kids.

Lilly LOVES her daily walks and these greatly enrich her life; she gets excited and pulls on the leash, so an adopter with patience and willingness to allow Lilly to stop and sniff for as long as she wants is important. An extra long leash, too, is helpful in quiet, safe areas so she can explore without worrying about being “leash trained” at her age and stage of life.  Lily prefers to happily snuggle next to you, sleep in the big bed and be included on your adventures. Lilly has been completely vetted to include: a recent dental, blood panel, vaccines, microchip, flea protection. Lilly should continue with her current quality kibble to keep her skin and coat healthy as well as a daily joint supplement.

She does well with both small and medium size dogs, (cats unknown although she does not show any indication she would bother a cat) and has no resource guarding behavior with food. While not particularly playful, she does enjoy the comfort of stuffed toys. Her temperament demonstrates she may do well with older kids and cats, though we are not sure as she is easily startled by fast movements. She is an independent girl seeking a peaceful lifetime of love.

Her foster family says “she is easily one of the easiest dogs we have ever fostered”.   Lilly is posted for Hearts4Doxies Rescue. She is being fostered in Grays Harbor County, WA. For more information about Lilly and adopting her, please contact Hearts4Doxie Rescue: www.hearts4doxiesrescue.org/

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
