Lucas

Lucas is an 11-year-old chow chow who came into the shelter horrifically matted and filthy – thus the “lion cut” shave to get rid of the mats. This is a super nice dog who has no trouble with other dogs and was very uninterested in the cat the shelter staff showed him. Through all the testing and shaving he’s been wonderful. Perhaps after living outside much of his life he’s just happy to be inside and cared for? He has “mild” entropion (eyelids turning in) which hasn’t caused eye ulcers but his eyes do water a lot. Lucas likes people and is more demonstrative and interactive than most chows – he meets even strangers with a tail wag and willingly approaches. This gorgeous (just imagine him with a glorious thick coat) guy needs a home for the holidays!
