“Hi! My name is Luke. I am a little over 9 years old, they call me a lab mix and I weigh 59 pounds. My ID number at the shelter is: A654485

“I was brought in by my previous owner days before Christmas of 2021 because they were moving. I was adopted out from the shelter and then found “stray” so here I am again…

“My previous owner described me as shy and loving. I do have issues with my skin; I get itchy and chew on myself if I’m not taken care of properly. I am hoping my adopter will be able to take me to a vet and get me the care I need to be as comfortable as possible.

“I am a gentle and loving dog who likes to take things slow. I may get nervous in new situations, so I am looking for a family who understands that I might take some time to warm up. Once I get to know you, I will be a very devoted friend! I have liked kids in the past, the ones who are old enough to be kind and not startle me. I’ve heard people say I have a wonderful temperament. So why am I still here?

“I love blankets! I will eat soft toys and tennis balls (so best for me not to have those) but if you give me a toy or ball that’s VERY hard, I will chew on them with enthusiasm. I get excited when meeting other dogs but after I settle down, I am passive. Baths are enjoyable, since they can help with my itchiness. I am well behaved for my baths, and I love being dried off and brushed afterwards.

“I am really hoping that soon someone will come for me and keep me forever. I will show how loving and cuddly I can be once I settle in.”
