Meadow is a very pretty, 12 year old beagle who weighs 28 pounds. She is losing her lifetime home and needs a committed, adoptive home very soon.

Meadow has lived with another dog in the past but she has never lived with a cat. We are told she does well with children. Ideally a home with older kids who know to be gentle and respectful of Meadow would be best. Meadow craves routine and needs a home with someone who can spend time with her and appreciate her. She loves her people and is very happy to spend time with them.

If you’re looking for a walking buddy, Meadow is your girl! She is very happy to go on daily walks. Her person tells us the more exercise she has, the better!  We are told she is OK on leash. That may mean she needs a little work on her leash skills. Meadow sounds like a dog who wants to please her person so some training could be both enjoyable and rewarding. Meadow already knows how to do some tricks!

Meadow does not show any signs of arthritis at this time. She can climb stairs.  Meadow receives Omega 3 oil to help her joints and support her diet. Her owner will share vet records with potential adopters. Meadow can manage between 4-5 hours before she needs a potty break. Ideally she can go to a home where she won’t have to “hold it” and can go out to potty whenever she needs.

Since she is a beagle, we would assume a home with a securely fenced yard would be best for Meadow as this breed does tend to follow its nose. We are told she rarely ever barks but she will whine when it’s close to meal time.

Our hope is that Meadow can find a home with someone who will give her time to settle in. It can be hard for a dog to have one family for its lifetime and then have to move. But giving those dogs a home when they need it the most can be incredibly rewarding. Meadow needs someone who will love and keep her forever, might that be with YOU?

Meadow is located in Bellevue, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@oldddoghaven.org

This is a courtesy post. Meadow is not an Old Dog Haven dog. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
