If you are looking for a lovable, sweet, senior dog, meet this handsome fella!

Micha is so wonderful, it’s difficult to believe that he was found all by himself  wearing a prong collar, but no tags. Good Samaritans got him to a local  shelter where he was never claimed and quickly became a shelter favorite with the volunteers.

Being in the shelter is not easy for dogs and it’s certainly no place for a senior. Since coming into rescue, he has been enjoying the comforts of a foster home. Micha is so lovable and he is extremely dog-friendly. He is estimated to be 9 years old—yet he has all the patience in the world for an 8-month-old puppy living in the foster home. Micha is extraordinarily gentle and tolerant of the puppy (who thinks that Micha is his personal playground). Micha does well with any dog he meets. This gentle giant did not even fight back when another dog went after him.

Micha is a big boy—weighing around 110 pounds. He is healthy overall with some typical arthritis (normal in a dog his age) for which he is receiving medication. He was overweight when first brought into the shelter, and has lost about 10 pounds which has helped him tremendously. The volunteers loved taking Micha for walks—he’s an easy boy to leash up and walk.

Micha may be a senior, but he loves to play and run around the yard after a ball or play with the foster puppy. It was discovered he also likes to chase the kitties in the foster home—he’s never hurt anyone, but his rescuers are going to err on the side of safety and adopt him to a cat-free home. His breed mix is unknown but the guess he is a Yellow Labrador mixed with possibly some pitbull or mastiff, or others.

Recently it was discovered that Micha really likes kids! He was very drawn to them at an adoption event.

Micha is posted for Lucky Paws Rescue of Tacoma, WA. If you are interested in adopting this handsome gentleman– please submit an application with Lucky Paws Rescue here: form.jotform.us/form/50488470409157
