Monty

8 year old Monty is a pug mix…we know it is kind of hard to see the pug in there, but we are sure it is there! Once you get to know him he is a sweet, happy, friendly playful boy, that loves to take squeekers out of toys! He will throw the ball to himself but likes it best when you throw it to him. He loves to go for walks and does very well on a leash. He loves car rides but mostly just likes to be with his people. He is perfectly potty trained so you won’t have any issues there!

Monty has suffered a lifetime of neglect and this has shown itself in his physical health as well as some behavioral traits. Monty’s skin was just horrible when he came in. He has been under a dermatologist care for 2 months and things have improved immensely! Because of the severity of the skin issues he will continue to need maintenance treatment to keep his skin in good condition. Besides that he is a healthy boy!

Monty has a large bubble with other dogs and strangers. He has been living with 3 pugs while he has been with us and it was an adjustment for him but he has learned to live in harmony. In truth he may do best as an only dog, but with the right owner and dog we feel he could live well with other dogs.

He needs someone who is kind and will be patient with him so he can continue to learn to be a good house dog and loving pet. A calm, quiet home with someone who is home a lot would be a dream come true for Monty.
