Murphy

URGENT NEED FOR NEW HOME!

Murphy is an 8-year-old Catahoula and Plott Hound Mix. He has the energy of a dog half his age and loves hiking, running, and chasing squirrels, snakes, and birds out of the yard. His favorite game is fetch and laser chasing. He enjoys going on walks and is good at sticking close to his human. Murphy also enjoys quiet time cuddling with his people.

Murphy enjoys female dog friends and felines over male dogs. He is fine with older kids, but small/young children make him terribly nervous. The unpredictable energy and movement of small children have caused Murphy to react by biting (one young child chasing him with a broom, and another young toddler who didn’t know better). The bites were not serious, but the family is not comfortable with Murphy and the kids together; they can see that the screaming, running, and activity of the kids causes great anxiety for Murphy. It is time for Murphy to move, as soon as possible.

Murphy sounds like a terrific boy! He is not an aggressive dog; he just needs a home without young children.
