Norman was a sweet old guy, probably a Lab/Weimaraner mix, who came into one of our foster homes with severe kennel cough and laryngeal paralysis, which causes them to have difficulty breathing. He loved playing fetch (even though he was not very good at it!) and had a constantly wagging tail. Norman loved every person and dog he met. It is hard to imagine how such a great dog could be lost by his old family and not searched for. He had such a sweet face and made lots of friends – one Old Dog Haven supporter even had a coat custom made for him to keep him warm all winter. He did very well for about 9 months and very suddenly began having difficulty breathing; we said goodbye to him surrounded with love. It was very important for us to not let him suffer even though he would be missed so much. Normie was a great representation of his “breed”, a favorite of many at ODH…old big black dog! He passed away May 14, 2014.
