Norton (aka Norty)
Filled with sunny joy!

Meet Norton! This adorable little fellow, (probably Shih Tzu and Brussels Griffon) arrived at his Old Dog Haven foster home soon after he was brought to the shelter as a stray. After settling in with his new foster family, Norton received a vet exam where they found he had a heart murmur, needed to be treated for dry eye and would also need to undergo a neuter surgery. This lucky senior boy will now receive the medical attention he needs to stay healthy and comfortable.
Norton’s Old Dog Haven final refuge family says he has adjusted to his new life and fills each day with joy.
Norton’s foster mom tells us, “Norton (aka Norty) is full of personality and makes everyone he meets smile. His dry eye has left him with limited vision but that has not stopped him from enjoying his forever home with the resident dog and cat.
Norty is a very active little guy but the vet reported he was having trouble walking due to patellar subluxation. We walked and built up distance very slowly, utilizing a stroller for breaks. He has gotten so much stronger, and we have found a neighborhood walk that fits him well!”
Norton’s favorite place to spend the day is in a commanding position on top of the living room couch, gazing out the window and protecting his home. He loves going for daily walks and stroller rides with his siblings where he barks at all the wildlife he sees along the way. He also lives to eat and enjoys napping in the grass and basking in the warm sun.
We thank Norton’s final refuge family for providing such a caring home where Norton will be safe and loved for the rest of his life.
