This incredibly sweet gentle guy landed in a huge shelter and just waited until they remembered to ask us to take him. They thought he was blind; we discovered that he could see at times and not at others, and that his directional hearing was gone (he could hear loud noises but didn’t know where they came from).  No doubt a very old man – but so well mannered, loving, calm and adaptable.

Very sadly, he had contracted distemper and was suffering from its effects on his lungs. When, despite all our efforts, breathing became too difficult we released him from his struggles with a great deal of regret. We would have so liked to make him healthy enough to stay with us a while.

He was very much loved.
