“Hi! My name is Rocha! I am a young senior boy who is in need of an adoptive home. I won’t turn 10 until September of this year. I am a lab-rottweiler mix who weighs 51 pounds.

“I am a very nice boy. I lived with a cat and another dog before my family broke up. When that happened, I was left with one human and they didn’t take good care of me. I was sad. I had fleas which made me so itchy and I chewed my backside. I got a skin infection because of it. I also had an ear infection- OUCH! Boy, I was so uncomfortable! Lucky for me the other human saw me and they knew they had to help me. So I went to the vet and now I’m starting to look and feel better. I am so thankful I am being taken care of! Unfortunately, I can not stay where I am now, I have very little time to find a new home. Do you know someone looking for a new friend like me?

“Considering all of the changes and what I’ve been through, I’m quite adaptable. I grew up in a home with property and I got to run around. Now I’m in a small place and I’m doing my best to fit in. I have never been trained to walk on a leash but maybe you have time to teach me? I can’t wag my tail very well but I have a great wiggle!

“I am good with older kids-teenagers can be fun! At first, I may bark when I meet someone but once we hang out, I am friendly and my human calls me ” very sweet”. I have behaved myself in the house with a dog and cat when the human leaves. I don’t like to wait long hours to relieve myself. If you can get me out about every 4 hours to potty, that would be so nice.

“If you have a home with stairs, I can do those. It could become harder as I get older though. I did just see a vet for my skin and ears but I didn’t have any lab work. I hear older dogs should have that done just to keep up on anything that could be happening. We dogs are stoic and often don’t let our humans know anything is wrong or that anything hurts until something is really bothering us! I will need someone who can keep up on the treatment of my ears and skin. I guess you could say I am “a project”? But that means once I’m better you can look back and be proud of how you helped me be my best self! I sure hope I can find my new human soon!”
