Roxie the lab mix is 10 years old and, like so many dogs of this breeding, has serious arthritis in her hind end. She is still full of life and, on anti-inflammatory medication, is getting up and down and around fine, if not very speedily. However, she is obese – 90 pounds now and should be 70, and regaining her girlish figure should be a big help with the arthritis. Presently she likes to “walk” but it is more of a meander. Her coat and skin were in bad shape when she arrived at the King County shelter but are improving with care and improved diet. Roxie passed her temperament test with flying colors but they feel she’s best in an adult-only home due to the arthritis. She is tolerant and good with small dogs and not very interested in the cat she met. She knows basic commands, is easy to handle and mostly just loves to be with people. Roxie is a very kind, lovely dog with some good time left! She is looking for a home that’s willing to treat her arthritis, get her back to a healthy weight and give her the care and attention she deserves.
