Rusty
Friendly and loving
Please note: The dogs in ODH's Final Refuge care are not adoptable due to medical reasons and all are in permanent homes. Your sponsorship supports the veterinary expenses for these dogs - and we thank you!
Twelve year old poodle mix Rusty found his Old Dog Haven Final Refuge home in early 2020. His people soon discovered that Rusty is a people dog. He loves to be held and will lean in against his ODH mom’s chest or snuggle against her leg. He keeps a very flexible schedule…ready to do whatever his family is doing or content to just hang out on the couch. Rusty quickly became fast friends with his forever family, particularly his ODH “mom”.
This little fellow has now become very popular in his family’s neighborhood, attracting a lot of attention with his friendly but shy manner. Thanks to your support of ODH, Rusty will continue to meet people and bask in the love of his forever family for his golden years.
Update: It has now been 2 years since we picked Rusty up in Washington. Little did we know what was coming with the pandemic but what a tonic he has been for our spirits and health. He’s a hardy boy who loves to walk almost endless walks. Rather than play he enjoys snuggling on the couch. He’s not been eager to learn tricks but he’s got “shake” down pat-in fact at random moments he’ll offer his paw which is a statement of “I’d like a treat, please”.
