12 year old Sadie is a 14 pound cockapoo. We are told that Sadie has never lived with another dog but is friendly with dogs that are friendly towards her. Sadie has lived with cats. She has never been observed around kids. Sadie sounds like a very sensitive girl so one would guess a home with older children who are gentle and kind would be best.

Sadie has had one family her entire life. Circumstances beyond anyone’s control force her to be re-homed. Thankfully her person is reaching out to find a loving, adoptive home for Sadie. Her person tells us that Sadie is a cuddly, devoted, loving companion dog. Recent changes in schedule have made it hard for Sadie. She needs a home where people are around more often and a home with someone who will be patient with her while she acclimates to a new life.

This pretty girl is great for walks; she LOVES to get out and can walk quite a bit. She can do stairs and needs a potty break every 3-4 hours during the day. She has been trained to ring a bell when she needs to go outside. Sadie has used a potty pad when she absolutely must. A home with a secure fenced yard is best for Sadie. She has “run away” from home twice when her person had to go out of town. We are told she is not a barky dog but she will give sad cries when her person leaves the house.

Sadie has a heart murmur and it’s been recommended by her vet that she see a cardiologist. She needs a dental cleaning but should not go under anesthesia without having her heart checked out. Sadie also has a “spot” on her left eye; it’d be beneficial for her to see an animal ophthalmologist.  Her adopter will receive vet records and must be able to afford her lifelong care. While this sounds like a lot, these are common occurrences in senior dogs and one should always keep cost and commitment in mind when they adopt.

It may take time for Sadie to settle into her new home. This is the case sometimes when a dog has been especially close to their owner. But, we have found giving a senior dog in need of a home the love and care they need can be SO rewarding. Sadie definitely sounds like a very nice girl.
