Scooby came to rescue from a previous life of neglect and was extremely underweight on arrival. Currently he weighs 76 pounds but he should weigh more and will once he’s at an appropriate weight. Scooby is estimated to be 10 years old.

This dear guy is an affectionate, snuggly, and lively senior, who loves to play fetch and does great on lead. He has been confident and at ease meeting new people, and his rescuers feel he’d likely do great in a home with other dogs or cats. He has not yet had the chance to introduce him to children, but given his sweet temperament, the belief is he’d be OK with kind children who will be gentle with him.

Scooby is housetrained and will bark to let you know he needs to go, and he loves car rides! Scooby’s main challenges are his separation anxiety (barks, pants, has done some chewing) and that he can be an escape artist. Because of this, he’d love a home with someone who is home often and one that can offer him consistent companionship.Ideally he will learn to relax and not stress when his people leave but one must be prepared to help him learn to do so with patience and compassion.

Scooby is posted for Pasado’s Safe Haven located in Sultan, WA. For more information about Scooby and adopting him, check out their adoption process here:

This is not an Old Dog Haven dog. We urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
