Scooter

This friendly, snuggly, happy-go-lucky little guy is looking for a kind, calm family who enjoy casual walks, hikes and car rides. Scooter is a Chihuahua / Dachshund mix, in great health apart from being a tad chunky at 17 pounds. He is  guessed to be around 10 years old. He has been neutered and microchipped and is up to date on shots.

Scooter loves making new human friends,  and is polite to dogs who are polite to him. He’s lived several years with chickens and ducks and ignores them. The belief is that he would do fine with a confident, dog-savvy cat. Only a few things scare this little guy (loud noises, baths and being picked up) – mostly he’s confident and interested in going places and seeing new things. He walks well on a leash, and is reliably house-trained and crate-trained – although he’s so good he really doesn’t need to be crated.

Scooter is posted for Hearthfire Animal Rescue Team. He is located in Kennewick, Eastern Washington. Scooter certainly sounds well worth a road trip – although if necessary the rescue will transport him to an approved adoptive home in the Pacific Northwest.
