Shadow sounds terrific! This soon-to-be 11 year old boy is said to be a border collie and lab mix. Shadow weighs 54 pounds-not too big and not too small! We are told that Shadow has lived with other dogs and gets along with other nice dogs like himself. He has been good with cats who are dog savvy once he gets acclimated to them. Shadow has even done well around chickens! He has been a terrific dog with gentle children. Shadow sounds like he would make a great family dog.

As a relatively young senior, Shadow appreciates activity. Daily walks would be great but he also loves swimming and playing fetch and “catch”. Shadow will bark and pull on leash out of excitement when he sees a dog he wants to meet. This may be his only “flaw”, if you’d consider that an issue. Once could certainly work on his leash skills, he is a very smart boy who is eager to please and listens to verbal commands.

We are told Shadow is not much of a barker unless another dog is barking. Shadow will quiet with a “hush” command. He has been accustomed to staying alone for the day but has recently been hanging out with his person while they work from home. He can manage a few hours before he requires a potty break. Shadow can climb stairs at this time in his life.

Shadow is said to be the perfect blend of a lab and border collie. He is so deserving of a home he can stay forever, with vet care and good quality dog food for the rest of his days. Someone will be very fortunate to adopt this very nice dog!

Shadow is located in Vancouver, WA. For contact information please email: referrals@olddoghaven.org
