Shelby

Shelby is a very sweet, very special little old lady, ready to spend her “retirement” bringing lots of love to her new family! Shelby is an approximately 11 year old Italian Greyhound/Rat Terrier mix with an adorable sweet face, graceful long legs, and a very gentle disposition. She can be shy around new people and in new situations, so would do best in a calm and quiet home with a predictable schedule, without a lot of visitors or young children. Shelby LOVES treats, and food definitely seems to be the way to her heart! She walks well on a leash, seems to be housebroken/potty-pad trained, and once she relaxes she’ll curl up in a dog bed or on a cushy chair for a nap. Shelby came to the shelter with a skin infection that is has cleared up nicely with medical treatment, but there is a small chance that her hair won’t grow all the way back in, so she might have a bald bottom for the rest of her life. Shelby is looking for a patient and understanding owner who is willing to give her lots of time to settle in to her new home, and who will be compassionate and loving when Shelby is anxious or scared.
