“My name is Skobiat, but my foster family calls me Skobie for short. No one is sure of my true age but I’m a senior (at least 8 years old), and I weigh about 70 pounds.

“Early in my life as a young boy, my person did not take proper care of me and it is believed I lost my sight due to poor nutrition. I lived life outside on a chain–24 hours a day on the side of the hill for most of my life.

“Now that I’ve been rescued, everyone is in love with me, and life is good! I live in the present, and I’m not looking back. I am blind, but can make out shadows, and once I learn my surroundings, I do pretty darn well! I do need a home without stairs.

“My foster family adores me and they love when I give them hugs by wrapping my front legs around them. I will give kisses all day long if you let me! They were all so happy when I started to come to them asking for their attention. If it’s allowed, I love to sleep in bed with people! However, I’m also willing to sleep on the dog bed…I just like being near someone.

“I’m not food aggressive, I’m friendly with strangers, and love to play with people! I am living in a foster home right now with dogs ranging from 5 pounds to 105 pounds and I do well with all of them—dogs just need to be okay with me “walking” into them once in a while—they don’t understand I can’t see. I have come so far from where I started, I can’t wait to find my forever family!”
