8 year old Sky is a lovely girl who is a strong, young senior. She has been waiting a very long time for a forever home. Sky has had a shelter break in a shelter foster home where she did very well. Recently Sky was adopted out for 2 weeks but sadly, her adopter couldn’t manage her strength so she regrettably had to return her to the shelter.

While Sky would prefer to be an “only” dog, the belief is she MAY be OK with an agreeable male dog who would allow Sky to be in charge. She most definitely should not go to a home with small dogs or cats. Sky has lived in a home with children and done well with kids who are old enough to be gentle and respectful of her.

We are told that Sky is well house trained and crate trained. Sky is a sweet girl but she can be needy and likes to be with her people all the time.  With so much time at the shelter and changes, one could understand that! She needs a family that will set her up to be successful and be patient with her as she is settling in. It’s not healthy (or really possible) for a dog to be with someone  24/7.  Sky needs time to learn her people will come back for her! Crating her while she’s left alone works best for Sky.

Sky is an active girl who needs her daily walks. Sky is a sweet, affectionate girl who is ready to finally find her true forever home. We are told Sky is super cuddly and loves to be touching her people when she can.

Sky is posted for The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County in Tacoma, WA.  For more information,  call 253-383-2733 or check out www.thehumanesociety.org. Sky’s animal ID number is: A522659.

This is not an ODH dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
