Sophie is an active standard Schnauzer who weighs 52 pounds and is not quite 11 years old. Sophie loves car rides, sleeping in bed with you, catching thrown treats and squeaky toys. In the past three, years, first her female owner and then her male owner (husband and wife) passed away, and Sophie is looking for a real home again. She needs to be an “only” dog in a home with no cats. Sophie was a princess for the first 10 years of her life, an only pet, and is used to being the focus of love and attention. Sophie has always lived with adults; she’s not been observed around young children so we are told she should go to a home with kids who are at least in their teen years. Sophie does very well on leash. She gets at least three 15-minute walks a day; undoubtedly she would love to walk longer and she can handle stairs. Sophie is ready for a committed adopter with whom she can devote herself to. Sophie will make someone a fantastic best friend.

She is ready and waiting in Coupeville, WA.

ODH has not met this dog; we urge prospective adopters to do their own evaluation.
