Spirit

Can you believe this dear senior girl was found abandoned along a busy highway so full of mats that it took a trip to the groomer just to realize what kind of dog she was under all that mess? The rescuer who found her named her Spirit and nursed her back to health. She adores her but works long hours and can’t give Spirit the lap time and security she needs to be happy so we are looking for a loving forever home for this special little one. Spirit is in good health and estimated to be somewhere around 12 years old though possibly a bit older… but she doesn’t let a bit of hearing loss or a lack of teeth stop her from being the happy and cuddly girl that she is. Spirit weighs about 10 pounds, a good lap dog size! Spirit adores people and truly wants nothing more than to be by her loved one’s side. She is happy to greet friendly dogs and cats but doesn’t interact with them very much. Because of her past, she does get anxious when left alone so we are looking for a relaxed home where someone would either be there most of the day or take Spirit with when going out – or that might have another dog her size and temperament to keep her company.
