Tariq, a 14 lb lhasa mix, was surrendered to a shelter after his owners could no longer care for him.  Not only was Tariq very underweight but his face was covered with severely matted fur which obstructed his nose and mouth area.  The matting was so extreme, Tariq had to be sedated to remove the matting and shave his face.

Under all that fur was the most adorable face we have seen!  This sweet boy is now enjoying a very different life as an Old Dog Haven Final Refuge dog. He now receives routine grooming and medical care and his days are filled with endless love and attention. He is slowly gaining some much needed weight  and feels much more comfortable.

His foster family reports he is the nicest dog with the most impeccable manners.  Tariq’s favorite thing to do when he is not watching football is to eat! This resilient little guy now spends his days napping with his foster brothers and sisters on the couch and loves all people and dogs. His foster mom expressed how lucky they feel to have him as a member of the family for the rest of his days.
Update:  We had far too little time with this wonderful fellow.  He soaked up all the love and attention in his final refuge home, but it was finally time to let him go.  He had been through so much, we are grateful we could give him such a wonderful pampered last chapter.  He will be greatly missed.
